The extensive area surrounding Chalet Sonnentanz offers hundreds of kilometres of ski slopes for the very experienced skier and snowboarder, but is just as varied for the beginner. You’ll find everything you’re looking for as a skier here; a very great chance of sun in an area that can be described as having very high snow-probability. Due to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier (3203m.), there is snow to be enjoyed by all kinds of winter sports enthousiasts for three seasons of the year; from cross-country skiers to freeriders, from young to old and from beginner to professional.
Winter Sports are taken seriously in the Zell am See – Kaprun area, and is demonstrable by the many facilities that have been built or modernised in recent years. Whether it’s the accessibility of the skiing area, or the extensive choice of cosy après-ski hangouts, the area surrounding Chalet Sonnentanz has everything on offer to guarantee a fantastic Winter holiday experience.
The perfect mountain for children and beginners to cut their teeth on. Along with the skiing there is a whole range of fun sports to enjoy at this “Mountain Experience” in Piesendorf, such as tobogganing, sky gliding, snow tubing, zipflbobbing and paragliding. Two nights a week (Tuesday and Thursday) the mountain is fully floodlit and open until 10pm.
